Here comes Santa!
With only 73 days to go, its time we talked about Christmas...
Yes, we know it feels like the easter eggs are barely out of supermarkets, and we've yet to have all hallows 'eve... but The DO is upon us!
For those of you new to the club, we make a bit of a fuss at Christmas. Our Christmas Do features...
The utterly out of control Christmas Raffle that last year reached £1,500 in prizes. This year featuring the ”new-fangled proper spinny-thingy-ma-bob” [Luke, its ‘s called a Tombola]
The highly contested Christmas painting competition [stop Alan winning]
Fabulous speeches from talented orators with interesting things to say [and Mat]
Subsidised Hot and cold buffet (that may, or may not, contain lobster)
Massively oversized and whimsical games that cram as many people in as possible.
Introducing the first annual "Christmas Jumper Competition" wear your best/worst/Daddest Christmas jumper as voted for by everyone, and win a mystery prize! [Probably socks]. Does not need to be a jumper, costumes welcome, but remember it will be busy and hot so turning up as Chewbacca might not be your best bet. Keep it PG!
All for the absolutely tiny price of £5 for members (£10 for those without a membership card).
Capacity 125. Admission will be by ticket only. Tickets will be scanned on the door. [Or we set Mick on you]

Over the next weeks, Directors shall be passing amongst you like the ghosts of Christmas future, rattling tins and persuading you to buy raffle tickets (or bad things will happen). Raffle tickets will be traditional paper and can be bought in person on any day we are open. Please buy often, but more importantly EARLY [it keeps John busy] . We try very hard to not generate profit from the raffle, and the earlier you buy the easier it is to know how many prizes we need to get. Many club officers shall also be scampering about like malnourished Dickensian children organising yule-themed games for your entertainment.
