We left Airbus in 2021 without even a list of people and we now have 152 registered members. Over the last four years we have built processes managed by the back end of the website to hold and manage member data.
Over time, many of you have created multiple records on the website by logging in using different email addresses and/or using pseudonyms [6 is the record - Alan]. The website also holds necessary details for those that have purchased tickets or goods from us, or contacted us using the online form. We have a total of 451 records held in the back end of the website. In addition, the way that the club handles that data has changed and we continue to make improvements. The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) protect you and the club by defining what personal data the club is allowed to collect, how it may be processed and for how long it may be kept. It is important that we continue to comply.
All this needs tidying up. Over the Christmas break, we shall be doing this behind the scenes. Most of you, wont see any change. Those of you with duplicate records will see only your club membership record retained, other records will be deleted.
If you experience difficulties logging in then contact Alan.
If you have signed up on the website, but have not yet been given a membership number, then you are not a club member and will have limited access to club events and areas of the website. Please make yourself known to Alan or Luke in the new year.
Check the membership process here. Snazzy new membership cards will be put in place following the club name change and upcoming logo competition. We can still register you as a member and give you a unique club number in the meantime - do not wait.
Please check that the email address that you gave us isn't dumping email from the club into your spam folder. We work hard to try and communicate with everyone and email remains a key way of doing this. [After asserting that we never sent them any email, one lucky member was able to find 251 club email over the last 4 years neatly stacked in his spam folder - oh how we laughed!] Once this process is complete in the new year, there will be a new Members Only region of the website, which will allow you to see and amend the data we hold. We hope to grow this also into a dynamic area that members can use to search and communicate with each other.
The board.
