In the year 2017 an event known as the Spark has taken place. This event a glowing energy pulsation, some 1000 miles in diameter that occurred about halfway between Mars and Earth and lasted about 36 hours caused panic across the world, however there did not seem to be any immediate effects and although of interest to astronomers has begun to slip from the public’s attention.

But all is not as it seems as the "Spark" did cause more than just the global panic......

Campaign History: The recent past: July 2026

It started with random incidents that have no direct link except that the events seem to have aspects that the majority of the population would disbelieve, feats of strength that seem superhuman such throwing an SUV tens of yards, climbing vertical walls of a skyscraper without equipment, outrunning a motorcycle barefoot. Even eye witnesses think there is some sort of trickery involved.

Over the space of the following six months there are more and more incidents reported by the media, with some calling the people involved “Sparks” or later the “Reborn”.

However what happened on March 17 th 2027 with flight 375 Delta Airlines transiting from Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport, Texas to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Washington DC changed things when the pilots veered sharply off course and ploughed into Capitol Hill killing 634.

The investigation by the FAA has not been published but rumours indicate that the flight crew were acting normally until the approach to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport at which point they began singing the Queen track - Who Wants to Live Forever as they changed from the approved flight path and crashed into the Capitol Building and were still singing right up to the moment of impact.

The White House has stated that investigations are still ongoing across multiple agencies and refuses to comment.

That was six months ago and while this tragedy is unresolved there are more instances of Spark activity across the world in virtually every country.

Then things became nigh apocalyptic when in October 2027 a Chinese missile silo launched a MIRV into Singapore obliterating it and causing chaos in the whole of the far east and beyond.The Chinese denied they had initiated the launch, which was confirmed when a video was posted from a fake user account claiming responsibility thirty minutes before the missile launch or the subsequent detonation. Initial viewers thought the video was a prank and ridiculed it for the claims made, their amusement abruptly changed.

In the video a man in a mask and voice disguised claims he is one of the "Reborn" blessed by the "Spark" to bring about a new world order.

Now amid accusation and speculation all governments are making plans to investigate and develop counter measures to the actions of the "Reborn".However there is also speculation that there are many more "Reborn" out there who are not psychotic criminals and perhaps they can be recruited to help understand the "Reborn" phenomenon and counter those with extreme agendas.

Religious organisations have put forth various theories with ideas varying from they are a warning that judgement day will soon be upon us. Others see the Reborn as people possessed by demons and that the Gates of Hell have been opened.Added to these are various cults that are now worshipping the Reborn as avatars of pagan deities with some Reborn claiming they are actually deities.
